General Terms and Conditions of Sale


These General Terms and Conditions of Sale (GTC) apply to all individual bookings made with the Hotel Le Grand Aigle – Friendly Hotel, excluding group bookings. All bookings imply full and unreserved acceptance of these GTC. The client acknowledges having read them and agrees to abide by them. The applicable terms and conditions are those in effect on the date of the booking.

ARTICLE 1 - RATES

Rates are quoted in euros (€), inclusive of all taxes (VAT included), and include the VAT applicable on the day of booking. Any change in the VAT rate or any new legal tax will be automatically reflected in the prices on the invoice date. Rates are per room, for the number of people indicated and the selected period. The tourist tax, set at €2.86 in 2026 per night and per person over 18 years of age, is not included in the displayed price and must be paid on site. Certain services may be subject to an additional charge and may be modified without prior notice, without incurring any liability on the part of the hotel. No reservation made before the implementation of any promotional offer will be eligible for a partial or full refund.

ARTICLE 2 - RESERVATION AND PAYMENT METHODS

Reservations can be made on the website: https://hotelgrandaigle.com, by telephone, email, or mail. The reservation will only be effective once it is guaranteed by the client, either by payment of a deposit for flexible rates or by full payment for non-flexible rates, and after receipt of a detailed booking confirmation. All stays must be paid in full before the client's arrival at the hotel. All additional services purchased by the client during their stay must be paid for before their departure from the hotel. The hotel accepts the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, and American Express, and has a secure payment system using SSL protocol, which protects and encrypts all data transmitted for the reservation to prevent any disclosure to a third party. The hotel also accepts Chèques Vacances (French holiday vouchers). A pre-authorization may be processed when the reservation is made. This will be done for informational purposes only and will not result in a charge to your account except in the following cases:

– Reservations with a "non-cancellable, non-refundable" promotional offer.

– If the credit card's expiry date is prior to the arrival date.

The hotel reserves the right to refuse any reservation in the event of an invalid credit card or incomplete booking. Reservations, regardless of origin, are payable in Euros only. The client is solely responsible for their choice of services and their suitability for their needs; therefore, the Hotel Le Grand Aigle, Friendly Hotel Serre Chevalier cannot be held liable in this regard. In accordance with Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code, the client does not have a right of withdrawal for accommodation services provided on a specific date.

ARTICLE 3.1 - PRICING CONDITIONS

FLEXIBLE OFFER

Deposit: 30% of the total cost of your stay is due upon booking. The balance is due 15 days prior to arrival in winter and 7 days prior to arrival in summer. Cancellation: Free of charge and full refund possible up to 15 days prior to arrival (7 days in summer). For cancellations made 14 days prior to arrival or up to the day of arrival, or in case of no-show, the full amount of the booked stay will be charged, without the possibility of a refund or rescheduling.

NON-FLEXIBLE OFFERS

Save up to 30% with our non-flexible rates. The earlier you book, the greater the discount. The "Early Booking" rate is available up to 90 days before your selected arrival date. The "Early Bird" rate applies up to 45 days before the arrival date, and the "Non-Flexible" rate up to 30 days before the arrival date. The discount applies to the room price, excluding meals. Deposit: 100% of the total stay is payable upon booking. Cancellation: The full prepayment amount will be retained for any cancellation. Change of Stay: In the event of a change to the arrival and/or departure date, the full amount of the original stay will be charged. BREAKFAST AND HALF BOARD Any breakfast or dinner not consumed on the scheduled day will not be refunded or rescheduled.

ARTICLE 3.2 - MODIFICATION AND CANCELLATION OF STAY

Any stay that has commenced is payable in full. All requests to modify or cancel a reservation must be sent by email to reservation@hotelgrandaigle.com or by telephone to +33 (0)4 92 40 00 90. The request will only be effective after written confirmation from the hotel. For reservations made through our partners' websites, cancellations must be made through those websites (Expedia, Booking.com, etc.). The cancellation policies that apply are specific to each partner and may therefore differ from those of the hotel.

ARTICLE 4 - FORCE MAJEURE

In accordance with Article 1218 of the French Civil Code, force majeure refers to any external, unforeseeable, and irresistible event preventing the performance of contractual obligations. The following are considered force majeure events (without limitation): natural disasters, fire, health crises, social conflicts, administrative or governmental decisions, hotel staff strikes, etc. The performance of the contract is then suspended or canceled without compensation.

ARTICLE 5 - THE HOTEL AND SERVICES

Child rates, particularly for meals, apply to children up to and including 10 years of age. Pets are welcome in the establishments for an additional fee of €15 per pet per night. Rooms are available from 4:00 PM and must be vacated by 11:00 AM on the day of departure. A surcharge may be applied for late check-out. The hotel reception is open 24 hours a day. Guests agree to use the premises responsibly and in accordance with their intended purpose. Any behavior contrary to safety rules, good conduct, or public order may result in expulsion without compensation or refund.

ARTICLE 6 - THE SPA

The Spa and Wellness Area is reserved for guests aged 16 and over and is accessible to non-guests under certain conditions. Guests accessing the wellness area or receiving a treatment agree to respect the premises, staff, and other guests. Any inappropriate behavior may lead the hotel to ask the guest to leave the premises without any compensation or refund, even if payment has already been made.

ARTICLE 7 - RELOCATION

In the event of unavailability or force majeure, the hotel reserves the right to accommodate the guest, in whole or in part, in a hotel of equivalent or higher category offering similar services. The transfer will be arranged by the hotel, and no additional compensation may be claimed.

ARTICLE 8 - COMPLAINTS

All complaints must be sent to the hotel by registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt within 15 days of departure from the stay that is the subject of the complaint. After this period, no complaint will be considered. The hotel strives to process all requests as quickly as possible.

ARTICLE 9 - PERSONAL DATA (GDPR) AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

In accordance with French law 78-17, known as the Data Protection Act, customers are hereby informed that their reservation is subject to computerized processing of personal data. The data collected is necessary for managing reservations and customer relations. It is processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Customers have the right to access, rectify, erase, and restrict the processing of their personal data. These rights can be exercised by contacting the head office:

Customers may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority: the CNIL (French Data Protection Authority).

It is specified that this data is not transmitted to unauthorized third parties. Free Wi-Fi access is available. The client agrees to use the computer resources made available to them in accordance with applicable intellectual property laws. The establishment has a video surveillance system in the common areas.

ARTICLE 10 - LIABILITY

The hotel's liability is governed by Articles 1952 et seq. of the French Civil Code. The client will be held responsible for any damage, deterioration, or act of vandalism caused within the establishment by themselves or their companions, whether to movable property, decorations, or real estate belonging to the hotel or not. Consequently, the hotel may ask the client to leave the establishment without compensation or refund for the stay, and to cover the cost of the damage caused, as well as all losses incurred by the hotel.

ARTICLE 11 – MEDIATION

In accordance with the French Consumer Code, the customer may use a consumer mediator free of charge to resolve a dispute amicably. Mediation service: MTV Médiation Tourisme Voyage - www.mtv.travel.

ARTICLE 12 – APPLICABLE LAW

These General Terms and Conditions of Sale are governed by French law. This applies to both substantive and procedural rules. Any dispute falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the French courts. These General Terms and Conditions of Sale are translated from French, only the French version shall prevail.
